What is DÉRA Skin OS?
DÉRA Skin OS is a barrier-first, corrective skincare practice in Frisco, Texas, designed for melanin-rich skin. It organizes care into six Skin Operating Systems, each built around one skin concern, from eczema-prone skin to hyperpigmentation.
What does "barrier first" mean?
Barrier first means DÉRA protects and restores the skin barrier, the outermost layer that holds in moisture and keeps out irritants, before treating any visible concern. Calm, healthy skin responds more predictably to corrective care and is less likely to develop dark marks.
Who founded DÉRA Skin OS?
DÉRA Skin OS was founded by Courtney Nevins, a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP-BC) and licensed esthetician with a background in advanced nursing, wound care and aesthetics. An Ohio native, she has called Texas home for more than a decade.
What are the six Skin Operating Systems?
The six Skin Operating Systems are Brown Panda (Barrier + Comfort), Red Cardinal (Barrier + Clarity), Blue Elephant (Barrier + Brightness), Green Cheetah (Barrier + Hydration), Purple Owl (Barrier + Renewal) and Pink Flamingo (Barrier + Foundation).
